Mammography Technologist

Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, TX needs a Mammography Technologist who knows their way around a breast imaging suite. This isn't a quiet desk job; you'll be working with ultrasound, digital mammography, and nuclear medicine to catch abnormalities early. You'll team up with radiologists for special procedures and collaborate with nurses, techs, and doctors to make sure every patient gets the right image the first time.

Your day starts at 8a and wraps at 4:30p. The schedule runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

What you'll actually do

  • Perform quality mammography procedures on patients of all ages
  • Assist the Radiologist during special breast imaging procedures
  • Communicate clearly with patients who might be nervous or uncomfortable
  • Build real relationships with your coworkers; it makes the shift smoother
  • Own your performance and look for ways to improve how patients experience their visit
  • Take initiative on your own professional growth (we like people who want to get better)
  • Stay engaged and help build a winning team that actually works together

What you need to bring

  • A graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program that meets MQSA guidelines
  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider
  • A current ARRT (M) certification ; that's American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography specifically
  • A Texas Department of State Health Services certification for radiologic technologists in good standing
  • OR: If you hold an ARRT (R) credential instead, you must obtain your ARRT (M) license within one year of completing orientation here. That's non negotiable.
  • A year of prior experience is preferred but not required if everything else checks out.

The hospital you'd call home base

Methodist Charlton Medical Center is a 314 bed teaching hospital sitting in southwestern Dallas County ; serving Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster. We've got a Level III Trauma Center and a Level II NICU. There's a newly renovated ICU, labor and delivery unit, and interventional radiology suite. Our emergency department recently added 40,000 square feet of new space. We hold Magnet designation from the ANCC ; which basically means nursing excellence is baked into how we operate ; plus we're ranked as one of Becker's Hospital Review's 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare (2023).
