
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Maintenance Mechanic spot at WestRock in Dallas, TX. This isn't a desk job. You'll be the one keeping the wheels turning, literally and figuratively, on the production floor and beyond.
What you'd be doing
You'll report to the Maintenance Manager, Coordinator, and Lead, helping them execute the plan to keep everything running. The main goal is simple: maintain a safe place to work and keep all the equipment humming.
- Perform skilled and semi skilled maintenance across the facility.
- A big part of your routine is scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Think inspecting belts, gearboxes, chains, bearings; the works.
- When things break, you're on it. You'll handle repairs on related equipment with minimal supervision.
- Get ready for regular testing, scaling, and calibration of analog devices.
- Troubleshooting is key. You'll dig into low voltage circuits, analog devices, VFDs, and motor control circuitry to find the root cause of failures.
- Same goes for hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and devices; you'll diagnose faults and failures there too.
- Your work isn't just on the production line. You'll also handle repair and maintenance in non production areas like the warehouse, design lab, building itself, and the grounds.
- You'll use their CMMS system to implement work orders, log your daily activities, and track planned projects.
The schedule & what you need
This is a hands on role that requires specific skills and flexibility. Here's what they're looking for.
- The schedule is on 2nd or 3rd shift. Overtime and weekend work are needed sometimes.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Going to a technical school is a definite plus.
- You have to be able to work safely, keep your area clean and hazard free, and follow all safety rules. Consistent attendance is required.
- They need experience with PLC processors and ladder logic; primarily Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron platforms.
- You should be familiar with NFPA 70E standards and know how to apply them on the job.
- Got boiler or steam knowledge? A certification in that area would be a big advantage.
Pay & benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 to $34.00 per hour. Your actual rate depends on your role level, location (Dallas, TX), plus your own skillset experience education.
