Journeyman Electrician

Yellowstone Local·Dallas, TX

About This Role

The Gist of This Job

Yellowstone Local is representing The Perfect Light, a company that's been the go to for outdoor lighting and is now building out a residential electrical services division. They're looking for a Journeyman Electrician in Dallas, TX who actually likes working with homeowners and solving real electrical problems. This isn't just another service call gig; you're helping launch something new.

What You'll Actually Make

You're looking at annual earnings between $70,000 and $75,000. But there's more to it than that base number. You can earn extra based on completed work and performance results. Plus, overtime hours are available to push that number higher. And each year, pay increases are tied to developing your skills and strong performance.

Why Stick Around

  • A full time, year round position with stable work ; no seasonal layoffs here
  • A company vehicle stocked with all the tools and materials you need for daily work
  • An iPad loaded with field service software so scheduling and documentation aren't a headache
  • Paid training where you actually learn practical skills, not just watch videos
  • Continued education opportunities including support preparing for the Journeyman exam if you don't have it yet
  • Career growth as this electrical services division expands across Texas ; you're in on the ground floor
  • A team culture focused on safety, craftsmanship, and professional service without the corporate nonsense
  • Leadership that gives clear expectations but also supports your career development

The Day to Day Work

This role is based in Rowlett, Texas, though we're keeping Dallas, TX as the placeholder here. You'll be heading into residential homes to handle installations, repairs, and electrical upgrades. Everything needs to meet NEC standards and local electrical codes.

  • Diagnose and repair residential electrical systems including panels, wiring, outlets, breakers, circuits, and lighting
  • Install new electrical components and perform upgrades in existing homes
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues until you find the root cause ; then provide safe long term solutions instead of quick patches
  • Talk with homeowners directly about what you found and what their options are; they already trust the brand name from outdoor lighting work over the years
  • Keep your work vehicle clean and organized; same goes for every jobsite you touch
  • Document work orders and invoices using company provided technology (iPad plus service software)
  • Follow NEC requirements along with local electrical codes and company safety practices at all times
  • Coorindate with lighting crews or sales teams when additional services or inspections come up on site visits because sometimes one thing leads to another in a home ; it happens naturally rather than being forced into scope creep territory but still worth mentioning so nothing falls through cracks between departments either way honestly speaking from experience here having done similar coordination before myself actually so yeah don't skip over it completely

What You Need to Bring (No Exaggeration)

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; no exceptions on this one since licensing pathways demand it anyway usually
