About This Role
What you'll actually do
You're the person who makes sure the production floor doesn't stop. This is a first line supervisor role for mechanics and electricians at our Dallas, TX facility. You'll staff, train, supervise, evaluate, and develop your team members. Your job is to keep equipment running so we hit line efficiencies, improve key performance indicators, and cut down on downtime.
You'll supervise service and repairs on a continual basis ; sticking to that preventative maintenance schedule we've set up. You'll also create and plan those PM programs yourself. Safety is non negotiable here: you manage physical safety plans and evacuation procedures, make sure working conditions are safe at all times, and enforce proper attire and PPE. You hold regular safety meetings to keep awareness high.
Other parts of the role: respond to daily calls related to manufacturing ops, conduct routine facility inspections (and act on what you find), manage within labor and OPEX budgets, keep an accurate parts inventory at all times. You'll work with outside vendors for cleaning contracts, grounds keeping, emergency response teams, security systems, pest control ; plus oversee vendor repairs for equipment, hazmat stuff, fire safety tasks. Disaster recovery prep is part of it too (practice drills included). You collaborate with Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services, Human Resources when compliance issues pop up. Flex your schedule as business demands shift. And yeah ; project work happens.
What you need to bring
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years of hands on manufacturing equipment experience required
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of a manufacturing environment and high speed production equipment
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
The schedule reality
The shift runs 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM on a 3 2-2 rotation pattern in Dallas, TX. Expect those hours every scheduled day ; it's not a standard Monday through Friday gig.
