About This Role

What you'll do here

You’ll be the one making sure our new products get built right, from the first line on a schematic to the final panel layout. Your main tool is AutoCAD Electrical, and you’ll use it to build smart, automated drawing systems that turn product configurations into complete electrical designs.

It's technical work that connects to almost every part of the company. You won't just draw; you'll encode the rules so our configurator can automatically generate one line diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials. You'll size components for three phase power up to 600V and lay out low voltage control circuits. Then you’ll see it through: writing test plans, running validation in the lab, and helping production solve build issues on the floor.

Your day to day involves constant collaboration. You’re talking with Mechanical Engineers, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production Engineering to hit schedule, cost, and safety targets. You’ll manage documentation and engineering change orders (ECOs) in our PLM system. A big part of the job is preparing everything needed for compliance; think UL, CSA, NEC; and coordinating those submittals.

What you need to bring

We need someone who gets how electrical design works in the real world and can translate that into a repeatable, rules driven system.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or something very similar.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of hands on experience doing this kind of design work.
  • Deep expertise in AutoCAD Electrical. I'm talking about building symbol libraries, parametric blocks, setting up wire numbering and cross references; the whole environment.
  • Practical knowledge designing with three phase power (up to 600V) and low voltage control wiring for things like relays, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Experience with rules based configuration systems or engineering rules engines. You've mapped product attributes to drawings and BOMs before.
  • A working understanding of key standards: UL/CSA/IEC, EMC/EMI fundamentals, and the NEC/NFPA 70 & 70E.
  • The ability to focus intensely on details while juggling multiple projects. You're organized and can work independently most of the time.
  • You have to communicate clearly. You'll be explaining complex electrical decisions to people who aren't electrical engineers every single day.

The practical stuff

This is a full time position based at our facility in Dallas, TX. You'll report directly to the NPD Manager and follow our stage gate development process as part of our Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

How to apply

If your background lines up with what we're looking for here; especially that AutoCAD Electrical experience; we should talk. Please apply through our official portal linked with this posting.
