Senior Tax Accountant
A midwest CPA and advisory firm is expanding and needs a Senior Tax Accountant to help businesses and individuals with their tax and financial goals. You'd be working with a team that handles everything from complex returns to strategic planning. The pay range is $100,000 to $110,000 per year.
What you'll actually do
You'll prepare and review some pretty complex tax returns ; individual, corporate, partnership, and multi state ; making sure they're accurate and compliant with federal and state tax laws. That's the baseline. Beyond that, you'll work directly with clients on tax planning and strategic financial advice. You'll research and interpret tax laws to find the best benefits for their situations.
- Review and prepare complex tax returns across entity types
- Provide tax planning services and strategic financial advice
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations
- Help manage, develop, and maintain client relationships alongside the team
- Identify and implement tax planning strategies that minimize liabilities and boost profitability
- Assist with IRS and state tax audits when they come up
- Stay current on industry trends, changes in tax laws, and new planning strategies
What you need to bring
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- A CPA license
- At least 3 years of experience in public accounting, focused on tax
- Solid skills with tax software and technology platforms
- Real knowledge of federal and state tax codes, regulations, and case law
- Proven experience conducting tax planning and reviewing returns
- Strong analytical and problem solving chops ; plus the organizational skills to juggle multiple projects
- You can explain complex tax issues clearly, both in writing and in conversation
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, meeting tight deadlines
- High ethical standards and a commitment to client confidentiality
