About This Role
Building Automation Controls Specialist
This is a role for someone who knows their way around BAS and DDC systems inside and out. You're not just pressing buttons on a frontend; you're programming, commissioning, and jumping into the field to fix complex controls issues. You'll be working on commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare facilities across Dallas, TX, backed by a well known Manufacturers Rep company that's been supplying HVAC, building automation, and plumbing products across Texas for years.
The systems you'll touch integrate HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management. They're looking for someone who can lead integrations with real purpose, not just manage a list of tasks.
What you'll do
- Program, configure, and commission BAS and controls systems. Siemens or comparable platforms are preferred, but strong fundamentals matter more than brand loyalty.
- Lead system integrations that tie HVAC, lighting, access control, and dashboards together into a single, working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex DDC controls issues that pop up in the field.
- Build graphics, dashboards, and reports that end users actually find useful.
- Mentor junior technicians and help guide project teams through tough problems.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to keep projects on track and delivering real quality.
- Train customers and give them the technical support they need to manage their own systems.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of BAS or DDC experience, with deep knowledge of HVAC control sequences.
- Real familiarity with integration protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- You've commissioned, programmed, and troubleshot systems before. A lot.
- You can read mechanical drawings, control schematics, and wiring diagrams without needing a decoder ring.
- You've got customer facing experience and can explain complex things clearly to non technical people.
- Leadership skills ; you're comfortable training or mentoring other techs when the situation calls for it.
Nice to have, but not required
- Niagara N4 certification or other BAS credentials.
- Experience building energy dashboards or advanced graphics.
- Knowledge of code and safety practices like OSHA or NFPA standards.
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field. Equivalent experience works here too.
Compensation and benefits
- Pay range is $30 to $50 per hour, depending on your experience and fit for the role.
- Medical, dental, and vision plans that actually cover stuff.
- A competitive PTO package.
- Paid holidays so you can actually take a break.
- Short term and long term disability coverage.
- A 401(k) Savings Plan to help you plan for the future.
