The job in a nutshell
Brink's is looking for an AWS Engineer in Dallas, TX. This is a hands on role designing and building high performance, highly available enterprise applications that support our global cash and valuables management operations. You won't just be writing code ; you'll be shaping architecture, migrating systems to AWS, and building APIs and user facing applications that actually get used at scale.
What you'll actually do
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot high performance, highly available applications that align with Brink's strategic objectives.
- Implement both API based and web based software solutions with a focus on quality user experience.
- Work within industry standard frameworks and microservices architectures to deliver new functionality.
- Keep peers and management in the loop on project status, plans, deliverables, and design decisions.
- Document and publish solution designs and architecture so internal teams can actually use them.
- Manage localization tools, builds, and integrations for all our apps and websites.
- Contribute to architecting and planning the migration of in house applications to AWS Cloud.
What you need to bring
- 10+ years of working experience as a full stack .NET developer.
- 5+ years of hands on experience with AWS and serverless technologies.
- Solid fundamentals in software development and engineering on large scale, mission critical applications.
- Ability to write code using Microsoft and AWS security best practices.
- You can author, maintain, and debug code modules on AWS without breaking a sweat.
- Expert level skill writing code for serverless applications.
- Deep familiarity with API Gateway, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, and other AWS services.
- Experience building APIs (JSON, XML, SOAP), web services, and REST services for both in house and cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in .NET Core Framework, SQL, AngularJS, JavaScript, NodeJS, CSS, HTML5, and RESTful WebAPI Services.
- Solid database schema design skills and heavy experience in SQL Server development ; including identifying and fine tuning bottlenecks in SQL queries.
- Experience with Entity Framework and Code First, plus other ORM tools.
- You know your way around Unit, Integration, Load, and Performance testing.
- Experience with version control software for source code management (TFS and Git branching).
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal ; because you'll be collaborating closely with teams and leadership.
- Must hold AWS Solutions Architect and Developer certification (Associate or Professional level).
