About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Cardiac Sonographer opening at Methodist Richardson in Dallas, TX. I've been recruiting for these roles for over a decade, and the good ones always go fast. This is a core position on their cardiology team.
The Work & The Schedule
You're performing echocardiograms. That's the heart of the job. You'll be working with physicians, nurses, and other specialists to get patients the diagnostic imaging they need.
The shift runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. It's weekdays with rotating weekends. You need to be ready for that schedule.
What You Need to Bring
Here’s the non negotiable list. We can't move forward without this.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Your ARDMS registry in adult echo (AE) is required. Pediatric echo (PE) is great if you have it.
- There's an alternative path for pediatric skills: a written statement from a pediatric cardiologist attesting you're skilled and competent to perform all scopes of pediatric echocardiography independently can substitute for the ARDMS in that specialty.
- Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
A couple things that will make your application stand out:
- Graduation from an associate degree echo program or an accredited echo training program.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
A Bit About Methodist Richardson
This isn't a small clinic. It's a 443 bed, full service acute care hospital serving several communities. They're busy and have some serious credentials: a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and they were actually the first hospital in the nation to get The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal for Pancreatic/Hepatic/Biliary Cancer Certification.
The main campus includes a Level III NICU and is a Level III Trauma Center. They also have a separate Campus for Continuing Care with behavioral health, rehab, and long term acute care units.
They've won awards as an employer; Magnet designation, spots on "Best Places to Work" lists, and they're recognized as a top Military Friendly Employer. They talk about building a diverse workforce, which in my experience here means they're actively trying to get it right.
The Details & How to Apply
The pay range and specific benefit details like insurance plans or PTO accrual would come from HR directly after an initial screening. What I can tell you is that full time roles here typically include medical, dental, and vision insurance options; retirement plans; paid time off; and those usual corporate benefits.
If your certifications and experience line up with what's listed above, apply through the official Methodist Health System careers portal. Make sure your resume clearly shows your ARDMS status and any relevant training programs.
