The gig
This is a Cadence & Referrals Epic Analyst role at Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX. It's a technical job, and it's not slow. You'll be working with the Cadence module for Methodist's outpatient community offices. That means you're the person who makes sure scheduling and referrals actually work in the system ; the build, the maintenance, everything in between.
What you'll actually do
- Plan, design, test, implement, support, and maintain Cadence and Referrals application functionality
- Work cross functionally with other application teams and communicate with project leaders, analysts, clinical leadership, and users to develop system requirements
- Develop design specifications and implement new functionality ; reports, database dictionaries, scripts, you name it
- Test new releases and version upgrades so they don't break anything
- Provision security roles for supported end users
- Manage help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails as they come in
- Maintain current, detailed system documentation for your assigned application
- Mentor team members when needed and keep leadership informed on project and application operations
- Take initiative for your own professional growth ; don't wait to be told

What you need to have
No fluff here. Here's what's required and what gets you noticed.
- Epic Cadence and Referrals Certification ; this is mandatory
- One or more years of experience working with the Cadence application is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1+ years as an Epic analyst
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment
- You can communicate clearly with different levels of staff ; in writing and out loud
- You can work independently and handle multiple jobs at once, balancing resources, priorities, and deadlines
- You're proficient in MS Office applications
- You have solid organizational and time management skills
- You work with confidential patient information and keep your composure when dealing with the public
- You can understand user needs, articulate problems, and figure out if a solution is feasible
- You can function well under pressure
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Day shift. Standard work week.
How the reporting works
You report to the Director of Epic Applications, the Application Team Lead, and the VP of Epic Information Systems. You don't supervise anyone directly.
