Telemetry RN
About This Role
The Role
Corpus Christi Medical Center Doctors Regional is looking for a Telemetry RN to work PRN in Corpus Christi, TX. This is a bedside nursing role in a progressive care unit, where you'll spend your time with patients instead of buried in paperwork. The hospital has invested in technology that lets nurses work more efficiently, so you aren't fighting clunky systems all shift.
You'll coordinate and deliver patient centered care, working alongside medical providers. This means handling pre operative and post operative nursing care and acting as an advocate for every patient you see. It's a role for someone who wants to make a real difference in people's lives, shift after shift.
What You'll Actually Do
- Assess each patient's condition when they're admitted and during every shift after that. You're expected to identify changes in their status and report them immediately.
- Perform procedures and other functions exactly as the medical provider orders.
- Document every bit of care you provide in the patient's medical record. Be timely. Be thorough.
- Administer prescribed medications and keep a close eye on how the patient responds.
- Stay current on the medications, procedures, and equipment used to care for cardiac and medical surgical patients.
What You Need to Bring
- An active Registered Nurse license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (you have 30 days from your start date to get it).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (also due within 30 days of starting).
- A Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree in nursing.
The Schedule
This is a PRN position. You'll work on an as needed basis, filling in where the unit needs you most. It's not a set weekly schedule, so flexibility is key.
