What the job is

This Parts Specialist role at O'Reilly Automotive Stores in Corpus Christi, TX is about helping people find the right parts and get back on the road. You'll work retail and installer customers, and also support the store management team with whatever needs doing that day. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply ; it's a plus here.

What you'll actually do day to day

Follow and promote our customer service programs: Hi 5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, and others.
Greet retail/walk in customers right away with a friendly, courteous attitude, then help them pick out the right merchandise.
Assist the store manager and installer service specialists with professional customers whenever they need a hand.
Complete the training that's assigned to your position ; it's not optional, but it's relevant.
Answer phone calls according to company policy, look up parts accurately, quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low Price Guarantee.
Keep the cash drawer secure and accurate ; accept cash and checks, make change, and process credit card transactions.
Process exchanges and returns for credit in a friendly way, following company policies exactly.
Handle customer complaints directly and resolve them with a helpful attitude.
Help with daily image maker updates and planogram changes, including receiving freight, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
Handle daily operational tasks: prepare new, core, and warranty returns to ship to the distribution center, assist with monthly stock adjustments, and help with inventory cycle counts.
Use the brake lathe and other store test equipment after you've completed the required training and met company requirements.
Perform in store services where state and local laws allow ; install wipers, test and charge batteries, test charging systems, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules, etc.
Drive a delivery vehicle occasionally when business needs require it ; your driving record must meet the company's mandated eligibility requirements.
Any other duties that come up.

What you need to bring

Required: You have to be able to match alphanumeric sequences quickly. You need to deliver outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service. And you've got to multitask ; handling phone customers and in store customers at the same time is part of the job.

What helps but isn't strictly required

Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, and the Weatherly index system
Experience in automotive sales or service
ASE certification
Fluency in multiple languages ; Spanish is highly desired
