Interventional Radiology Technologist
About This Role
The Role
This is a PRN position for someone who already has experience in interventional radiology and wants flexibility. You'll work in the Special Procedures Lab at a major hospital in Corpus Christi, TX, handling imaging for invasive procedures and keeping everyone safe around radiation.
You aren't just pushing buttons on a machine. You'll plan and track everything related to radiologic quality control. You'll administer medications and therapies under a physician's direction. And you'll need to understand sterile technique, how to set up a sterile field, and what's happening in each procedure they're doing.
What You'll Actually Do
- Handle all patient radiographic imagery for invasive procedures
- Follow radiologic safety precautions for the patient, the special lab staff, and the physician
- Plan and carry out records for radiologic quality control
- Understand the procedures performed in the specials lab inside and out
- Work with technologies like Meditech and PACS
- Administer medication and therapies under a physician's direction
- Support the special procedures team however they need you
What You Need to Bring
Experience: One year of related experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred. That's not a hard requirement, but it'll help you hit the ground running.
Education: You need an associate degree from a school of radiological technology. No exceptions there.
Certifications:
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current TDH certificate for Certified Medical Technologist
- ARRT certification

About the Hospital
Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed system in Corpus Christi, TX and the surrounding Coastal Bend area. Doctors Regional, where you'd be working, is an acute care hospital with a 24 hour emergency department, cardiac catheterization labs, orthopedic and surgical services, and inpatient rehabilitation. It's a real hospital doing real work.
