Veterinary Technician

About This Role

Hey there. I've been recruiting for vet clinics for over a decade, and I can tell you this one's different. Worthington Woods Animal Care Center in Columbus, OH is looking for a full time Veterinary Technician, and they're pretty upfront about what makes them tick. They're family operated, their techs stick around for years, and they want someone who genuinely cares about the work.

What You'd Be Doing

You won't be stuck doing one thing all day. Your main focus is on excellent patient care during surgeries and dental procedures. That means monitoring anesthesia, prepping patients, managing recovery, and performing dental cleanings with radiographs.

You'll also talk with clients. You'll review treatment plans, give clear discharge instructions, and answer their questions thoughtfully. And you're collaborating constantly with your team to support the doctor's orders during outpatient visits.

Who They're Looking For

  • You need at least two years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • An active RVT license in Ohio is required.
  • They put it simply: be a good human who's kind to pets and people.
  • You should be a strong communicator who wants to build real relationships with clients and coworkers.
  • Take pride in your work and aim to make every client visit memorable.
  • A willingness to keep learning and improving is key.
  • Bring a positive attitude; you'll need to work well under pressure sometimes.

The Schedule & The Place

This is a full time role with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday. You'll also need to rotate Saturday shifts and work one Sunday per month.

The facility itself is modern and well equipped. You'd be working with Idexx in house labs, digital radiography (including a dedicated dental suite), surgical monitors, EzyVet cloud software, and a Companion Animal Therapy Laser.

Pay & Benefits

  • The pay range is $20 to $24 per hour for each hour worked. Specific pay considers your education, training, experience, location of work, and other relevant factors.
  • A bonus package worth $2,000.
  • A continuing education allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on how long you've been there.
  • A health package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage are included.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program.
  • The practice offers 401k options.
  • Paid time off following site policy and applicable law.
  • A nice perk: a personal pet discount.

During the process you can request more details about compensation and benefits for your specific work location. Where required by law, WVP provides eligible employees with leave and similar benefits programs in accordance with state and local law. WVP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants get consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, genetic information or other protected characteristics.
