Telemetry RN

OhioHealth·Columbus, OH

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Telemetry RN spot on the night shift in Columbus, OH. This isn't about filling a slot; it's about being the guide for someone when they're navigating some serious health stuff. You're the one doing the assessment, building the plan, and seeing it through. It's real nursing, start to finish.

What you'll do

You're providing general nursing care to patients and families across different settings, collaborating with the whole healthcare team. You're accountable for your practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Think of it in four parts.

  • Assessment and Diagnosis: You'll handle initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments. This is about 30% of your focus.
  • Planning: Based on what you find, you document the planned nursing interventions to get to the right outcomes. That's another 30%.
  • Implementation and Evaluation: You evaluate how those interventions are working and whether outcomes are being met. Then, with the team, you revise the plan based on what you learn. That's roughly 20%.
  • Leadership and Operations: The rest of your time involves process improvement work aimed at clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and financial performance. We operate as a High Reliability Organization (HRO), so safety, quality, and efficiency are part of everything you do.

What you need to have

The must haves are pretty clear cut.

  • An Associate's Degree is required.
  • You need your RN license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • You also need BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (CPR is part of that).
  • The field of study is Nursing.

Here’s something important: they're listing zero years of experience as acceptable. So if you're a new grad with these credentials, this could be your spot.

The schedule & details

This is a night shift position. You're scheduled for 36 hours weekly on the Trauma Unit 1. It's full time work with a rhythm that lets you dive deep into patient care during those hours.

A bit about where you'd be working

The posting mentions they believe wellness and sickness are part of a lifelong partnership. They talk about working hard, caring deeply, and reaching further to help people. There's an emphasis on learning, growing, and achieving more in your career and community. It sounds like a place that wants nurses who see it as more than just tasks; it's about guiding people.

How to apply

If this sounds like the kind of nursing environment where you want to practice; where passion for a caring environment matters; then your next step is to apply through their official process. Make sure your application highlights your RN license from Ohio and your AHA BLS certification.

This job description provides an overview but isn't an exhaustive list; duties can change over time.
