About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this audit role. I've been placing people in public accounting for over a decade, and what this firm is offering is pretty different from the usual grind. They're serious about that work life balance thing.

The Work

You'll be an Audit Senior Associate on our team in Columbus, OH. That means you're leading audits for a bunch of different clients; no getting stuck in one industry. One week you might be deep in a manufacturing company's books, the next you're looking at real estate portfolios or working with high net worth individuals. Government and casino work is in the mix too.

Your main job is to run those engagements. You'll get to know your clients' businesses inside and out, figure out what needs to be audited, and adjust your plans as things change. You're preparing financial reports that follow GAAP, digging into statements, testing transactions, and evaluating how things are controlled internally. You'll also put together cost budgets for each audit and make sure we're tracking against them.

Clients will come to you for advice on reporting and compliance, especially around government rules and benefit plans. And you'll need to be sharp with Excel; we use it for a lot of our analysis.

What You Need to Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least five years doing financial auditing, accounting, and reporting work.
  • You have to know GAAP standards cold and have real experience putting together financial reports.
  • Be really good with advanced Excel for data analysis.
  • Experience across different industries is a big plus; especially if it includes casinos, government work, manufacturing, real estate, or high net worth clients.
  • An understanding of government regulations and benefit plans.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are non negotiable.
  • You need solid communication skills because you're dealing directly with clients and our internal teams.
  • The ability to handle several tasks and deadlines at once without dropping the ball.

A CPA license is preferred but not an absolute must have to apply.

The Good Stuff (The Benefits)

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $170,000 per year. On top of that, there are performance bonuses.

  • You can work from home when you need to; they offer hybrid options.
  • The medical plan setup is good; they offer three different plans and contribute a significant amount toward the cost. Dental and vision are also available.
  • Life insurance, AD&D insurance, and short term disability coverage are paid for by the employer.
  • The 401(k) plan includes a company match.
  • For Paid Time Off: full time team members start accruing 15 days per year. After three years, you accrue more progressively. If you're hired as a manager level or above, you start accruing 20 days per year right away.
  • There's also 2 weeks of paid parental leave and 8 paid holidays each year.
  • They pay for continuing education and any credentialing you need. If you're still working on your CPA exam? They provide tutoring support from mentors and give you a bonus when you pass each section of the exam itself!

A Bit About The Firm

    A Bit About The Firm:

We’re one of the largest public accounting firms in the Southwest; and we’re growing fast. We were voted one of the Top Places To Work last year. The whole idea here is that we can serve our clients well without burning people out. They famously say here that if other firms expect 2800 billable hours, they aim for something closer to 1500. It makes a difference.

    Why It’s Different Here:

They actually do fun stuff. There are regular team events, both in the office         and out volunteering in the community, just to break up the week. They’ll even reimburse your gym fees       or help with wellness incentives through their health carrier.

    Career Growth:

You won't be siloed here. You’ll have direct access & exposure & interaction & visibility & opportunities & mentorship & sponsorship …with Principals …with Partners …with Leadership. This isn't just lip service; it's how promotions happen. If career development matters, this place gets it.
