The Job

You're the first face families see when they walk into Carter's. That means you get to congratulate new parents, help grandparents find that perfect gift, and guide someone through their first back to school shopping trip. You'll introduce people to our baby essentials and help them find exactly what they need for every milestone from preemie to size 14.

This is a part time Sales Manager role in Columbus, OH.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll lead from the sales floor, not from the back office. A few things that'll be part of your regular day:

• Welcome customers and help them understand our product styles, features, and benefits
• Become a genuine expert on our brands ; Carter's, OshKosh B'gosh, SkipHop, and Little Planet ; so you can guide any family through their shopping trip
• Keep the environment positive, safe, and inclusive for both customers and your coworkers
• Model our service standards and omni channel experience while coaching others to do the same
• Own an assigned business focus area ; plan it, follow through, and make it work
• Handle Leader on Duty supervisor stuff: drive results, respond to customer concerns quickly, and get issues resolved
• Pay attention to customer feedback, spot where you can improve, and actually make changes
• Build customer loyalty through Company programs like our credit offerings
• Give your team consistent, in the moment feedback ; and pass bigger performance concerns up to the Store Manager
• Celebrate exceptional performance with positive reinforcement and genuine appreciation
• Support Asset Protection by staying consistent with customer service, safety awareness, and operational controls

What You'll Bring

Here's what we're looking for. You don't need to check every single box, but this is the general direction:

• A positive, solutions oriented attitude ; you figure things out instead of just pointing out problems
• Solid verbal and written communication skills that feel professional but not stiff
• Comfort juggling multiple tasks without dropping everything
• Decent computer and tech skills ; Outlook, Excel, web navigation, that sort of thing
• A high school diploma or GED
• A variety of skills and experiences you've picked up along the way

The Physical Stuff

This isn't a desk job. Here's what you'll be doing physically:

• Lift up to 40 pounds when needed
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Stand or walk for extended periods
• Climb up and down a ladder
• Work a schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Pay Range

Compensation for this role falls between $14.75 and $18.50 per hour, depending on your experience and the specific location.
