About This Role

The Role

Abbott's nutrition business is looking for a Senior Specialist in Regulatory Affairs to work out of our Columbus, OH location. This isn't a remote gig ; you'll be on site. And we aren't offering relocation help or any kind of sponsorship (including OPT).

This is a specialist individual contributor role for someone who already knows their way around regulatory work. You'll be handling complex or highly specialized projects, and sometimes you'll need to break from the usual playbook to find solutions. You'll need at least 3 years of experience in a regulated industry ; think medicinal products or nutritionals.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Direct the development of product registration submissions, progress reports, renewals, amendments, and periodic experience reports
  • Work with country affiliates to compile and prepare registration and submission documents
  • Act as the regulatory liaison throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Help develop and implement product plans and regulatory strategy
  • Represent regulatory affairs with marketing teams, research teams, and regulatory agencies
  • Manage and evaluate product changes ; you'll assess the scope, figure out the regulatory impact, and determine what international submission requirements are needed
  • Keep annual food facility licenses current
  • Maintain solid working relationships across business functions, third party manufacturers, and suppliers

What You Need

  • A Bachelor's degree ; ideally in a science like biology, chemistry, microbiology, or food science
  • At least 3 years of experience in a regulated industry (medical products, nutritionals, that kind of thing)
  • A certification like RD (Registered Dietitian) is a plus, but not required

The Pay

Base pay for this position runs from $78,000 to $156,000. In certain locations that range might shift a bit.
