About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this RN role in Columbus, OH. This isn't about filling a slot; it's about being the guide for someone through whatever part of their health journey they're on. You're the expert in the room, accountable for your practice and for the care your patients get on your watch.
What you'll do
You'll provide nursing care across different acute health settings. The department runs 24/7, so we need people who understand that rhythm.
- Your core work is the nursing process: assessing patients, planning their care, implementing interventions, and evaluating how it's all going.
- You'll perform initial and ongoing assessments to understand each patient's health status.
- Based on what you find, you'll document a plan with specific outcomes in mind.
- Then you put that plan into action and track the patient's response, adjusting as needed.
- A chunk of your focus is on safety, quality, and efficiency. We operate as a High Reliability Organization (HRO), which means those principles are built into every task.
- You'll also delegate tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel, following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act to a T.
- And we expect you to jump into process improvement projects. It’s how we hit our targets for clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
What you need to have
The non negotiables are pretty clear here. No wiggle room.
- A current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio. If you have a multi state compact license, it needs to be in good standing.
- A BLS certification from the American Heart Association. You must have this.
- Here’s the big one: a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). If you don't have it when you start, you're required to obtain it within five years of employment.
The schedule & how to apply
This is a full time day shift position. You're scheduled for 36 hours weekly.
The department is Medical Unit 3. Think about that environment; if caring for patients there fits with where you want to be, we should talk.
