About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this electrician role. It's not your average local shop job. You'd be working on big commercial and industrial projects, the kind that actually changes how a place operates. The company itself is interesting; they work across construction, engineering, and renewable energy, and they've been named one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America. They take that "Culture of Care" thing seriously.
What you'd be doing
You're the licensed pro on site. You'll take blueprints and turn them into real, working electrical systems. That means running conduit, setting up lighting and control systems, pulling wire, and making motor connections.
- Your main focus is installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance on everything from motor feeders to complex controls.
- Everything has to be done by the book; the National Electric Code (NEC) is your bible here.
- You won't be working alone. A big part of this is guiding apprentices and helpers, showing them how things are done right.
- Keeping the job site safe and organized is non negotiable. You'll participate in daily toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Maintaining your tools and our vehicles is part of keeping everything running smoothly.
The specifics we need
This isn't an entry level position. We need someone who's put in the time and has the license to prove it.
- A completed apprenticeship program or equivalent hands on experience; we're talking at least 8,000 hours.
- An active state electrician's license is mandatory.
- You need a solid, practical knowledge of the NEC and how industrial/commercial electrical systems work.
- The schedule is weekdays, generally between 6 AM and 6 PM. But with projects, sometimes nights, weekends, or holidays come up.
- Be ready to travel. This role requires being on the road 60 to 75 percent of the time for project work across Columbus, OH and beyond.
- A mindset where safety and teamwork aren't just buzzwords; they're how you get through the day without issues.
The deal
The pay range is $40 to $48 an hour. On top of that, you get a daily per diem for every day you're traveling for work.
The benefits are full: medical, dental, and vision coverage are included. They also emphasize career growth and will support educational advancement if it helps you move up.
