About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this OR RN spot in Columbus, OH. I've been placing nurses here for over a decade, and I'll be straight with you: this is a real hospital nursing job. It's not abstract. You're in the OR, you're running your own cases, and you're accountable. The team needs someone who knows what they're doing from day one.
The Work
You're providing professional nursing care to patients and their families in the surgery department. This means you own the nursing process for your assigned patients from start to finish.
- You'll do initial and ongoing assessments; that's your foundation.
- Based on what you find, you document the plan and the interventions needed to get to the right outcomes.
- Then you implement that care and evaluate how it's working, adjusting the plan with the rest of the team when necessary.
- A chunk of your focus is on leadership and process improvement. They run a High Reliability Organization (HRO), so safety, quality, and efficiency aren't just buzzwords; they're how you do every task.
- You'll delegate tasks to LPNs and UAPs per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
The department runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You're part of that coverage.
What You Need to Bring
They are specific on qualifications. Here’s the list.
- A current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio (or a current multi state compact license in good standing).
- Your BLS certification from the American Heart Association has to be active.
- You need more than one year of recent experience as a staff RN in an acute hospital setting. Specifically, more than one year in an intraoperative setting.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required if you've been licensed for five years or more.
The Schedule & The Deal
The scheduled hours are 24 per week. The shift is variable. And there's on call. You have to commit to being on call with a firm 30 minute response time when you're up.
How To Apply
If your background lines up with what's listed above, apply through the platform. Make sure your resume clearly shows your OR experience and dates of employment.
