Alright, let's talk about this job. It's not your typical clinic manager position. You're running the clinical back office for a primary care group that does things differently. The title is Center Clinical Manager, and you'd be based in Columbus, OH.
What you'd be doing
You're the person making sure the clinical side of the center runs smoothly day to day. That means managing the team, keeping an eye on quality and compliance, and being a key part of the leadership group.
- You'll oversee hiring, performance management, training, and daily functions for clinical staff. This includes Care Promoters at all levels, Pharmacy/Medication Technicians, and X ray Technicians.
- Partnering with center leadership to design and implement operational strategies is a big part of it; you're there to help hit organizational goals.
- Scheduling your team, approving payroll and PTO, and planning for staffing shortages falls to you.
- Sometimes you'll jump in to provide direct patient care yourself, performing any duty a Care Promoter would do.
- A lot of this role involves using data dashboards. You'll analyze them to develop business strategies that boost revenue and improve quality ratings like HEDIS/STARS scores.
- Creating protocols to improve staff productivity is on your plate.
- You'll collaborate with the doctors (PCPs) to coach clinical staff, implement improvement plans, and handle disciplinary action when necessary.
- Managing medical equipment and supply inventory is your responsibility. You troubleshoot issues, call for service, and inspect new gear.
- Hitting key performance targets; things like specific KPIs, patient wait times, experience scores, and keeping staff engaged; is the goal.
- Leading the selection and hiring process for clinical staff and pharmacy techs is crucial. You'll also facilitate their onboarding and training on everything from our care philosophy to clinical competencies.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with agencies like OSHA and HIPAA is non negotiable. You enforce our internal clinical and quality standards too.
- The job requires completing training to dispense medications from the medication room.
The background we need
We need someone who gets how a clinic really works from the ground up. It's a hands on leadership role where your healthcare operations knowledge has to be solid.
- A highly developed understanding of healthcare operations and clinical practices is essential.
- You need superb knowledge of general clinical operations, techniques, medical products, and procedures.
- Advanced skills in patient screening, medication administration, wound care taking vital signs drawing blood are required; you might need to step in clinically
- Excellent communication skills both spoken written are a must
- The same goes for leadership interpersonal organizational abilities; you have to be able to coach mentor inspire people
