OhioHealth·Columbus, OH

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this MRI job at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. It's a weekend night shift gig, which isn't for everyone, but it comes with some serious upsides if the schedule works for you.

The Schedule & The Deal

You're working every weekend, nights. Your three 12 hour shifts are Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Because of that weekend and night commitment, there's a premium pay differential on top of the base rate.

Now, about that sign on bonus. It's $15,000 with a one year work commitment. That offer is for external applicants and newly licensed internal folks. If you used to work here and have been gone for more than 90 days, you might be eligible too. They're also offering relocation assistance if you currently live more than 100 miles from the hospital.

Benefits kick in on your first day.

What You'll Be Doing

You're running the MRI show for your patients. That means getting them ready, which involves thorough safety screening. You'll operate the magnet, the injectors for contrast, and all the monitoring equipment. A big part of the job is knowing how to adjust the pulse sequences correctly based on what body part we're imaging and what we're looking for.

  • Positioning patients accurately is crucial.
  • You handle daily safety and quality control checks on your system.
  • Sending images to PACS for the radiologist is part of your workflow, along with transferring them for any needed manipulation.
  • Reformatting and post processing those images falls to you.
  • Administering MRI contrast agents is part of the role.
  • You'll also maintain supplies in your assigned rooms and cover call duty as needed.

What You Need to Bring

The certifications are non negotiable. You must have one of these two: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board). You also need a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.

Beyond the paperwork, they're looking for someone with good organizational skills who can communicate clearly. It's a busy environment where those things matter.
