You are a DVM first, and a leader second. The Medical Director position at Worthington Woods Animal Care Center blends hands on patient care with real authority over the DVM team and medical support staff. You'll work alongside our hospital management team to keep the medicine excellent, mentor associate vets, and protect the positive culture we've spent years building.
A note about Dr. Miller
Dr. James Miller started this practice more than 30 years ago. He isn't leaving anytime soon. What he wants is to work in tandem with you, step back gradually, and hand over the reins when you're ready. No abrupt changes. No pressure to figure it out alone from day one.

Our RVTs have been here an average of ten years each full stop They place catheters, draw labs, do the technical work so our DVTs focus on doctoring.

Who you are
- A good human who plays nice with pets and people
- Someone who builds lasting client relationships because you actually want to not because a checklist says so
- You take pride in your work and you deliver a memorable experience every appointment
- You're willing to guide mentor and genuinely be part of the team not just oversee it
- Proficient at internal medicine general surgery and dentistry
- A minimum of five years clinical experience in small animal medicine
- Holding an Ohio veterinary license or eligible to get one quickly
The compensation package
- $150,000 to $170,000 base salary depending on experience plus a Medical Director stipend on top of that
