About This Role

What You'll Be Doing

You'll run the Deli Department at Market District in Columbus, OH. This isn't just a job where you stand around slicing meat. You're the person guests and Team Members come to when they need guidance on school lunches or holiday party platters. And you're accountable for how the department performs, every single day.

Your main duties include interviewing, selecting, and training new Team Members. You'll direct their work, appraise their productivity, and recommend promotions or other changes. You'll handle complaints and discipline when needed. You'll plan the work, distribute assignments, and make sure everyone stays safe. You'll also manage the department budget and inventory, and monitor compliance measures.

You'll oversee training to reduce turnover, control labor costs, and keep things efficient. You'll provide motivational leadership by focusing on respect and setting an example. You'll identify what the team does well and where there's room to grow, then think strategically about scheduling and staffing. Developing future leaders is part of the job too ; spot the people ready to rise and remember that your team is your best asset.

Safety comes first ; for Team Members, guests, and products. You'll inspire everyone with a real passion for food and a willingness to go the extra mile. You'll set and reach aggressive sales and profit goals, make suggestions, and manage shrink. You'll establish a communication plan so every Team Member stays informed and prepared. You'll work with the merchandising team to make sure promotions get communicated properly. You'll make innovative suggestions to improve the business. And you'll review financial reports, LOB reports, and historical data to drive better performance in sales, profits, shrink, and labor controls. You'll oversee period inventories and monitor weekly fluctuations.

What You Need

  • Retail work experience or a Store Leader recommendation
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Safety certification or license
  • Can lift up to 50 pounds

What We'd Love to See

  • Retail leadership or supervisory experience
  • Successful performance as a Peer Trainer, in store champion, or similar role
  • A satisfactory performance and discipline record

The Good Stuff

Pay for this role ranges from $minimumpayrange1 to $maximumpayrange1 per hour or year, depending on your experience, skills, education, and location. Eligible employees get health, vision, and dental insurance.
