The Role

We run scratch based kitchens, and on weekends, that's where you come in. As our Relief Cook, you'll work Saturdays and Sundays making sure residents get the same quality dining they enjoy all week long. You'll prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, cooking things that look good, taste right, and are portioned the way each resident likes them.

And it's not just about the food. You'll build real relationships ; with residents, guests, and the rest of the crew. A warm, welcoming atmosphere is part of what makes this place work.

What You'll Actually Do

• Cook a wide variety of proteins and vegetables using broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing ; every plate should look appealing when you send it out
• Stock and organize your station, keeping food supplies up and pantry items fresh, plus check refrigeration as needed
• Handle all opening and closing tasks for each shift, whether that's morning setup or end of day shutdown, and pitch in with teammates to keep the kitchen clean, safe, and organized
• Keep the kitchen sanitary by cleaning work areas and equipment, then checking and recording temperatures for food, refrigeration, and the dish machine
• Bring ideas to meetings, take feedback well, and stay attentive on the service line during meal hours

What You Need

• At least 18 years old
• Able to work every Saturday and Sunday, at least 8 hours each day
• Can read, speak, and understand basic English
• Some kitchen prep and cooking experience is preferred
• You'll need to get whatever food handler permits your local area requires within two weeks of your first day
