It's for someone who genuinely likes running the whole show; the people, the numbers, the merchandise, the customer experience. You're steering the ship. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, read on.

What you'll be doing

You're in charge of everything that makes the store run and succeed. That means you own the sales results, manage expenses, and keep shrink and damages in check.

  • Build and lead your team. You'll recruit, train, develop, and manage a large group of Associates and Assistant Managers.
  • A big part of your focus is developing your Assistant Store Managers. You'll act as their mentor to get them ready for their own Store Manager positions down the line.
  • Come up with creative plans to drive sales higher. You'll analyze what's working and what isn't.
  • Provide recommendations to the District Manager on things like merchandise mix, inventory levels we should carry, and insights into our local customer base.
  • Keep an eye on the competition; their pricing, how they present product, their customer service; and share that intel.
  • Make sure Loss Prevention is a priority for everyone on staff. You'll ensure compliance with all company programs and policies to minimize risk.
  • The administrative side is key too: reviewing store reports regularly; conducting walkthroughs; holding audits; leading program meetings with your team.
  • The goal is for every single customer to have a great shopping experience. That hinges on high standards for both service and how the store looks.
