The Role
You'll be driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over the road, and overnight routes to deliver food products. Your main job is simple: get the customer's order to them safely, on time, and in perfect condition. That means you're doing pre- and post trip inspections every day, securing the load, checking invoices, and handling the delivery paperwork with signatures. You'll unload product into their storage area; sometimes with a two wheeler or lift gate; and handle any returns or damaged goods. At the end of your shift, you secure the truck and finish your logs. It's physical work where attention to detail matters.
The Schedule & Pay
- This is a full time position averaging 10 12 hour shifts.
- You'll work 4 to 5 days a week based on business needs.
- Your days off will be split during the week.
- There are no Sunday shifts.
- Dispatch times start early; you'll head out between midnight and 5 AM depending on your assigned route.
- The pay is a minimum of $350 per day under a component pay structure.
What You Need to Bring
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A).
- At least 12 months of commercial driving experience.
- You must be 21 years of age or older.
- A clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the last three years is required.
- A current DOT Health Card, or you need to be able to obtain one.
- You have to meet all state licensing rules where applicable.
- Passing a road test, a post offer drug test, and a criminal background check are all part of the process.
The work involves moving cases by hand throughout your shift. Product weight typically ranges from 10 35 pounds and can go up to between 60 and 90 pounds for some items. You need to be able to use equipment like two wheelers and lift gates to move freight safely.
