A few things to know about this role
This is a Wound Care RN position at UCHealth in Colorado Springs, CO. It's onsite only ; no hybrid or remote option. You'll work in the Wound Care Clinic at Printers Park Med Plaza. The schedule is full time, 64 hours per pay period (that's two weeks), and it's day shift.
The pay range is $33.61 to $52.10 per hour, and the actual starting rate depends on your relevant experience.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on your assessments, with the goal of optimizing outcomes while making the best use of available resources. You'll monitor patients, document their condition, and communicate with the rest of the care team as needed. You'll collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care ; that includes transfers, discharges, referrals, and connecting patients and families with spiritual or psychosocial support.
You'll figure out what patients and their families need to learn, and provide education that's appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances. You'll delegate care to ancillary personnel effectively. You may also precept student nurses and new hires.
What you need to bring
- Graduate of an accredited or state board approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (required if you have less than 3 years of experience). A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Your card must be in hand before your start date and must be good through at least sixty days of hire. Any additional life support certifications determined at the position level are also required.
- At least 6 months of nursing experience.
- Critical thinking skills, the ability to make decisions quickly, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
