Physical Therapist Assistant, Outpatient Rehab
This is a full time, onsite position at our Printers Park Med Plaza in Colorado Springs, CO. The schedule is days, working 64 hours per two week pay period.
The pay range is $25.80 to $38.70 an hour. Your specific offer will be based on your relevant experience.
What you'll do
You'll work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to treat patients for their therapy needs.
- Carry out the treatment plan set by the supervising therapist using appropriate techniques.
- Keep an eye on how patients are responding and communicate progress or any needed goal changes back to the PT regularly.
- Document all services provided and the patient's response or progress thoroughly.
- A big part of this job is education. You'll explain patient deficits to them and their families, provide info on adaptive equipment, and talk about community support programs.
- Help with discharge planning when it's time for a patient to move on.
- The role includes supervising support staff within the scope of state licensing laws and practice standards.
It requires solid critical thinking skills and good judgment, as you'll often work with minimal direct supervision. You need to be comfortable in a busy clinic setting where things can move quickly.
What we need from you
- A graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (or related program).
- A Colorado state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You need to have the card in hand before your start date, and it must be valid for at least sixty days after you're hired.
