About This Role

This isn't a job for someone who's comfortable. It's for the person who looks at a complex federal network and sees the next step, not just the current problem. We need a Senior Network Architect in Colorado Springs, CO who can design it, build it, secure it, and lead the team that keeps it running.

What you'll do

You'll be the technical lead for our network architecture on a major federal program. That means you're designing solutions one day and rolling up your sleeves to implement them the next.

  • Lead the implementation of network architecture across everything: LAN/WAN, data centers, and cloud environments.
  • Design and support MPLS and SD WAN networks.
  • Architect and manage data center infrastructure solutions.
  • Implement Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).
  • Set up device authentication and network access control using Cisco Identity Services Engine.
  • Manage network security with Cisco Firepower Management Center and Cisco 3105 Firewalls in Active/Passive high availability clusters.
  • Design secure access for enterprise apps like Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams; whether they're in the cloud or on premise.
  • Configure new network setups on an existing Zero Trust architecture using Zscaler. You'll work with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX).
  • Tackle security findings: block malicious IPs and URLs, mitigate vulnerabilities across network borders, and integrate Zscaler with Cisco edge devices.
  • Handle ServiceNow incidents and implement change orders.
  • Architect and manage secure VPN solutions for business partners using Cisco ASA.

The experience you need

A Bachelor's degree with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience works. So does a Master's degree with 6 to 10 years. Beyond that paper, here’s what matters:

  • A deep background in network architecture design and hands on implementation.
  • Expert level knowledge of routing, switching, security, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, NAC (Network Access Control), and data center fabrics.
  • You've worked with enterprise security architecture before; Zero Trust frameworks aren't just buzzwords to you.
  • The environment here is federal; experience supporting large enterprise or government systems is crucial.
  • The ability to analyze complex problems, troubleshoot them under pressure, and provide clear technical leadership is non negotiable. You'll collaborate across teams but also own your work independently when needed.
