About This Role

Security Officer – Colorado Springs, CO

This role is with Leidos, supporting the Task Force 2200 (TF2200) program. You'll report directly to the TF2200 Operations Manager and provide cybersecurity support to critical Army systems. It's a real, hands on position where you're owning the security posture of systems that can't fail.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and enforce information security policies across TF2200 systems.
  • Conduct security and risk assessments using frameworks like NIST, RMF, and Common Criteria.
  • Handle vulnerability management ; scanning, assessment, reporting, and verifying mitigations.
  • Protect information and maintain security controls to reduce risk on TF2200 systems.
  • Support IA continuous monitoring tasks like auditing, security patching, and scanning.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change Process (ECP) when system baselines change.
  • Support system accreditation inspections and activities with stakeholders.
  • Respond to and perform IT troubleshooting on TF2200 systems as needed.
  • Perform regular cybersecurity updates to maintain system security posture.
  • Support the RMF authorization process by developing and maintaining artifacts for the IS Body of Evidence (BoE).
  • Handle in office IT tasks and assist team members with issues that come up.

What You Need

  • U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • A relevant BS degree plus 4 or more years of applicable experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience interpreting and applying government security regulations like NIST SP 800.53 Rev 5 and DCSA NISPOM to information systems.
  • DoDM 8570.01 IAT Level II / DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Intermediate Certificate (Security+) ; you'll need this.
  • Highly organized and self motivated, with excellent documentation skills.
  • Can communicate effectively with customers and team members at all levels.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • A resident of the Colorado Springs, CO area.
  • Significant hands on experience implementing security, hardware, software, and network components.
  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) on Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong technical writing ability.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools like SCC, ACAS, Evaluate STIG, and STIG Viewer.
  • Experience with Army Space Control systems.
  • Experience with DoD customers and requirements, especially USASMDC.

Pay

Pay range is $87,100.00 to $157,450.00. That's a general guideline ; the actual offer will depend on things like the specific responsibilities, your education and experience, and your skills and knowledge.
