About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Nurse Manager role at the UCHealth Emergency Department in Colorado Springs, CO. This isn't a remote gig; you'll be onsite. The schedule is full time, working 80 hours over a two week pay period, and the shifts will vary.

The Work

You're stepping into a leadership role that supports the unit's Nurse Manager. Your focus is on patient safety and making sure we deliver the best possible outcomes. You'll help run the day to day operations and uphold our professional standards.

Think of it as a mix of coaching, problem solving, and making sure everything runs smoothly. You'll be involved in evaluating staff and developing their competencies. A big part of your job is being a resource; helping to match the right nurse with the right patient need and working to improve how patients move through our care.

You'll collaborate on educational needs, help implement new patient care protocols, and work with management to tackle any operational or personnel challenges that come up. It requires solid judgement and the ability to think on your feet without constant oversight.

What You Need to Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a current Colorado RN license.
  • At least three years of clinical experience in a related area.
  • Your BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer needs to be in hand before you start, valid for at least 60 days from your hire date.
  • You must have ACLS certification ready at hire.
  • You also need either PALS or ENPC certification when you start.
  • Whichever of PALS or ENPC you don't have at hire, you'll need to get within your first year on the job.
  • You'll need to obtain your TNCC certification within that first year as well.

The pay range for this position is $42.90 to $66.50 an hour. Where you land in that range depends directly on your relevant experience.

We structure our rewards around performance and long term growth. There's a 3 Year Incentive Bonus that builds up each October and pays out in your third year, based on contributions to our goals. You're eligible for an annual merit based pay increase, and we do regular market reviews to make sure our compensation stays competitive.
