About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this MRI Tech night shift role at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, CO. It's a full time position, 72 hours every two weeks. The pay is $60 an hour.

If you live within 75 miles of the facility, there's also a local traveler contract option. Those are 13 week assignments with the possibility to extend.

What You'll Do

You're providing direct patient care for MRI and other radiologic procedures. That means you're the one operating the equipment and ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely.

  • Review patient history before starting.
  • Perform imaging based on physician orders.
  • Prioritize explaining procedures to patients so they know what to expect.
  • Safely give contrast media or other imaging medications while watching the patient's condition.
  • Report any changes in a patient's status right away.
  • Use techniques that get a clear image and follow established best practices for quality control.
  • You'll help precept new staff members coming into imaging or to UCHealth.
  • A big part of the job is contributing to safety and quality at the point of care every single day.

What We Need From You

The requirements are pretty specific. Here’s the list:

  • You need to be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Technologist (RT) with the ARRT in Radiography. That's your R credential.
  • Also registered in MRI by the ARRT, or you must be registry eligible and complete that MRI registry within your first 12 months here.
  • At least one year of experience as an RT is required.
  • Any specialty ARRT certifications that this position calls for.
  • State licensure, if it's required by law for us.
  • A current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or CPR for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross. You need to have the card in hand when you start, and it has to be valid for at least sixty days after your hire date.

The Package

UCHealth puts together a solid benefits package. They call it their total rewards package, and it includes:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance. You can cover eligible dependents too.
  • A 403(b) retirement plan with an employer match.
  • A good amount of time off: paid time off (PTO), plus paid family and medical leave. You even start with PTO in your bank. Colorado FAMLI leave is included here too, along with other leaves of absence. Employer paid basic life insurance and accidental death coverage, with options to buy more. Employer paid short term and long term disability, again with buy up options. Wellness benefits. A whole menu of voluntary stuff like flexible spending accounts for health or dependent care, a health savings account if you pick that medical plan, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and discount programs. This is a good one: education benefits. For certain degrees, UCHealth might cover 100% of tuition, books, and fees. Other programs could qualify for up to $5,250 each year in prepaid tuition or reimbursements.
