The Job
This is a Charge RN position in the Surgery department at UCHealth. You'll work full time, 72.00 hours per pay period (that's two weeks), on day shifts. The pay range is $40.86 to $63.33 per hour, and what you actually get depends on your relevant experience. This role is onsite only ; no hybrid or remote options.
What You'll Do
You're there to provide top of scope direct patient care, working within the nursing process. The team approach matters here; you'll collaborate across multiple disciplines to hit exceptional outcomes. You'll prioritize wellness, keep the patient's perspective front and center, and lean on evidence based practice.
You'll model proficiency by precepting people who are new to healthcare or new to UCHealth. You'll welcome new knowledge, even in a clinical environment that moves fast and constantly innovates. And you'll contribute to keeping safety and quality solid at the point of care.
In the perioperative setting, your direct care can cover Perioperative, PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), or Operating Room levels of care. The evidence based care models here include AORN and ABPANC core curriculum and certification standards. Clinical Educators will support and guide you through individualized specialty education and training, with competency validation happening throughout your clinical orientation.
What You Need
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program ; you must hold this within three years of taking the Charge RN position.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with the card in hand before your start date. Your BLS or CPR card must be good through at least sixty days after you're hired.
