About This Role

What you'll do as a Case Manager RN

You're the person patients and families lean on when they're trying to make sense of their care. You round on your assigned patients regularly, checking their progress against the plan of care and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. You talk to patients and families directly ; not just about what's happening, but to find out what's worrying them. You answer questions, you listen to concerns, and you help get things resolved.

You give emotional support and clinical guidance. You help people understand the healthcare process so they can actually participate in their own decisions. You're the liaison between the patient and everyone else ; clinical staff, administration, physicians, insurance companies, community resources. You coordinate what needs to happen. You spot barriers and you work to knock them down.

Financial issues come up. So do psycho social ones, functional ones, and administrative headaches. You advise patients on their options and point them toward the right resources. When someone needs an advocate, you step in. It's a role that takes critical thinking and decisive judgment ; you won't have someone standing over your shoulder holding your hand.

This is an onsite role. No hybrid, no remote. It's based at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, CO.

Your schedule and compensation

Full time, 80 hours per pay period (that's every two weeks). Days shift.

Pay ranges from $38.91 to $60.31 per hour, depending on your relevant experience.

What you need to bring

  • A graduate of an accredited or state board approved Registered/Professional Nursing program. If you have less than 3 years experience, that's the minimum. A Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience.
  • A current BLS card through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You need it in hand before your start date, and it must be good through your first sixty days on the job.
