About This Role

The Role

This is a Cardiac Sonographer position at the UCHealth Cherry Creek Medical Center in Colorado Springs, CO. You'd be performing echocardiogram procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics. This role is onsite only ; no hybrid or remote option.

It operates on a PRN schedule, which means 0.00 hours per pay period (two weeks), working day shifts. The pay range goes from $42.01 to $58.82 per hour, depending on your relevant experience. What You'll Actually Do

  • Review patient history and physician orders before each exam.
  • Educate patients on the procedure, equipment, and exam so they understand what's happening and cooperate.
  • Set expectations for when the patient will receive exam results.
  • Independently perform echocardiography procedures on patients.
  • Select and use transducers based on anatomy, differentiating normal from abnormal structures, and making sure enough information is collected for a diagnosis.
  • Choose appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • When indicated, prepare and administer contrast media or medications within your scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition and report any changes in status.
  • Implement safety standards and run quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, or report equipment malfunctions.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with imaging quality.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
  • Work with minimal supervision, using critical thinking and decisive judgment.

What You Need

  • Graduation from an accredited Cardiac Sonography program, OR an Associate's degree in allied health, OR a Bachelor's degree in any area.
  • You must hold one of these certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI.
  • A current BLS card through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer ; must have the card in hand before your start date. The card also has to be good through at least sixty days after hire.
