About This Role

What You'll Be Doing

This Athletic Trainer role works with athletes of all levels, from weekend warriors to serious competitors. Based at UCHealth Grandview Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, you'll cover practice and competition prep, evaluate injuries as they happen, and decide when a referral to a physician is needed. You'll maintain medical files for each athlete and act as the go between for the doctor and the athlete. Under a physician's supervision, you'll run treatment and rehab programs. You'll also build conditioning plans for injured and non injured athletes alike. Expect to use critical thinking, make decisive judgments, and work with minimal supervision. This is an onsite position only; no hybrid or remote option.

Schedule and Pay

Full time, 80 hours per pay period (that's two weeks). Flex shift. Pay ranges from $24.11 to $36.17 an hour, which depends on your relevant experience.

What You Need

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Continuing education in the field
  • Certification by The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (NATA BOC)
  • Licensure with the State of Colorado (DORA) as an Athletic Trainer (LAT)
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with the card in hand before your start date. That BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
