This role sits on the plant leadership team in Cleveland, OH. You'll act as a technical advisor for everything related to keeping production equipment and the facility itself running. That means overseeing maintenance, repair, and replacement work on our reconditioning equipment. You'll supervise the Maintenance team, coordinate their assignments, and make sure safety, quality, and production efficiency are all hitting their marks.

It's a hands on leadership job. You won't just delegate; you'll be in the work, solving problems and driving improvements. The core of it is creating and running a comprehensive maintenance program that keeps our equipment reliable and our operations efficient.

  • Prepare and coordinate maintenance resources. You'll also give recommendations for capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review equipment operation with the appropriate people to spot maintenance issues tied to Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Look at the location's Key Performance Indicators (daily, weekly, monthly) and use them to recommend improvements in plant operations, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and maintenance problem resolution.
  • Track, analyze, and push the Maintenance department's own KPIs forward.
  • Conduct routine inspections to catch and fix issues that hurt production equipment reliability.
  • Build and keep relationships with suppliers and contractors so you're getting maintenance materials and services on time and at a fair cost.
  • Engage employees in solving production problems. Use Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve efficiencies when it makes sense.
  • Foster a positive work environment and drive the Maintenance team to hit productivity targets and performance standards.
  • Fabricate and modify equipment as needed; that's part of the job.
  • Make sure we're consistently meeting all regulatory compliance requirements from city, county, and state agencies.
  • Monitor and review maintenance expenses each month.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and service schedules.
  • Help recruit Maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all Maintenance employees are properly trained in their jobs. Identify training gaps and develop plans to fill them.
  • Other duties as they come up.
