About This Role
The Gig
This is a full time Journeyman Electrician role at Cargill, right in the heart of their Cleveland, OH operation. You'll be working the 2nd and weekend shifts. The pay starts at $34.01/hr for the first 90 days, then bumps up to $37.01/hr after that.
What You'll Actually Do
You're not just flipping switches here. This work is hands on and covers the whole electrical spectrum ; low voltage automation systems, medium voltage motor control circuits, and high voltage gear. You'll be:
- Doing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial electrical work across the facility
- Documenting every job and condition you find using maintenance computer software (like SAP or a CMMS)
- Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems
- Reading mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and operation manuals like they're your second language
- Sticking to all safety policies ; no exceptions ; and keeping your work area clean and safe
- Repairing equipment in close proximity to explosives (yes, really), so that ATF certification matters
- Tackling whatever else comes up ; it's a real working environment
What You Need to Bring
- The legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship ; they won't sponsor for this one
- You're at least 18 years old
- A solid grasp of English (both spoken and written)
- Basic computer skills ; enough to log work orders and check schematics
- The physical ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, climb, crawl, twist ; with or without accommodation
- The ability to work 4 feet or higher off the ground (elevated areas are part of the deal)
- Tolerance for varied indoor/outdoor conditions: heat, cold, dust, loud noise ; you'll wear PPE for all of it
- Real experience troubleshooting and maintaining low, medium, or high voltage electrical systems ; not just classroom stuff
- The ability to work underground in a mining environment (that's where Cleveland, OH is)
- A current ATF certification or the ability to get one when you're hired ; this isn't optional given the explosives work nearby
The Stuff That Helps But Isn't Required Yet Still Matters a Lot
