Finance Manager

Hey there. I'm a recruiter, and I've been doing this for over a decade. The posting below is for a real job with one of our clients; a multi entity construction company that's growing fast. The Work

This is a full time accounting manager position. You'd be the one keeping the financial engine running for this construction business.

That means you're overseeing everything from payables and receivables to payroll and daily entries. You'll handle the general ledger, taxes, cash disbursements, billing, collections, and cost accounting. A big part of the role involves managing Construction Work in Progress (WIP) tracking and reporting to make sure everything's accurate and follows policy.

You're also preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership. There's a lot of reconciliation work; monthly and quarterly account reconciliations are part of the process to keep reporting sharp.

Beyond the day to day, you'll collaborate with senior management on analyzing finances and developing budgets. You'll have a hand in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and implementing internal controls. Part of your mission is to document and improve processes to make the monthly close and reporting cycles more efficient and timely.

What You Need

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or something closely related.
• At least five years of accounting experience where you've taken on more responsibility over time.
• Some of that experience needs to be in a supervisory capacity.
• You absolutely must have worked in the construction industry before.
• Be really comfortable with Microsoft Excel and other financial planning software.
• A solid grasp of Construction WIP procedures, the month end close process, and journal entries is non negotiable.
• A strong understanding of GAAP principles is required.
• The company would prefer if you have a CPA certification or an MBA.

The Schedule & Pay

This is a full time role based in Cincinnati, OH. The salary range is $85,000 to $100,000 per year. There's also a performance based bonus structure in place.
