Driver

US Foods, Inc.·Cincinnati, OH

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this driving job. It's not just a route; it's the main artery of the business. You're the one getting the product where it needs to go, on time and intact. The details matter here, from the first pre trip check to the final customer signature.

What You'll Do

You're running deliveries and pick ups to restaurants and other vendors in the Cincinnati, OH area. Your schedule runs Monday through Thursday; you're out for your runs and you return to base either Wednesday or Thursday. The goal is simple: get everything delivered correctly and get home for the weekend.

  • Safely operate your truck to meet all pickup and delivery windows.
  • Verify every order with the customer and get the right paperwork signed.
  • Handle your customer interactions professionally; you're the face of the company on the road.
  • Your shift starts and ends with a thorough inspection of your equipment.

What We Need From You

We need someone who shows up ready to work safely and reliably. Here’s what that takes:

  • A valid Class A CDL from your state of residence, with all necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
  • You must be at least 21 years old.
  • At least six months of commercial driving experience. If that experience is in food or beverage delivery, we only require three months.
  • The ability to communicate in English for conversations, understanding road signs, official inquiries, and completing reports.
  • You need to be registered in the FMCSA Clearinghouse database before you start. It's a federal DOT requirement for all CDL holders.
  • A willingness to travel overnight during your work week (Monday Thursday) with weekends at home.

The Physical Side of the Job

This is a hands on job. You've got to be comfortable with the following, shift after shift:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling between 20 to over 80 pounds repeatedly.
  • Driving and working through all kinds of weather.
  • Handling multiple stops per run for pick ups and deliveries.

A Couple More Notes

A skill with manual transmission is a plus; some locations might require it. And we have a strong safety culture; it’s not just a slogan here, it's how we operate every day. Your schedule falls anytime between Monday and Thursday, depending on load assignments.

Pay & Benefits

The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year on average. You're paid weekly. Your benefits start on day one, and they're low cost to you:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • A 401(k) plan where US Foods kicks in an automatic 2% company contribution plus matches 100% of your contributions up to 6%. That can add up to an 8% company contribution total.
  • Life insurance coverage.
