The job in a nutshell
You're the person who makes sure retail projects actually get done right. This District Manager role with Driveline puts you in market, leading over 100 hourly merchandising associates across 200+ retail locations in Cincinnati, OH. You'll travel to stores most days, work directly with your team and store personnel, and own the execution of key merchandising projects ; category resets, new item cut ins, product stocking, audits, and data/photo collection. You're not sitting at a desk. You're out there, making it happen.
And the pay is straightforward: $43,888 to $45,000 per year.
What you'll actually do
- Train, coach, manage, and mentor hourly employees across your market area
- Maintain a 95% or higher on time execution rate for every assigned project
- Build real working relationships with retailers and client personnel
- Talk with your assigned employees consistently ; regular, direct communication
- Respond quickly to company team members with actionable follow ups
- Plan and organize staffing so you meet client project requirements without scrambling
- Manage district costs: drivetime, mileage, and overtime
- Control merchandising expenses like overtime, drivetime, mileage, and related travel costs
- Keep a flexible labor pool ready for routine business spikes
- Work as part of a Regional team and contribute to the bigger company picture
- Travel to job worksites daily or weekly to engage with clients and employees
- Handle employee relations issues professionally, partnering with HR and Leave Departments
- Help other Districts with staffing and execution when the business needs it
What you need to bring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills ; you can juggle multiple tasks and projects without dropping anything
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow up in a timely way
- Intermediate skill level in web based reporting and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- You can stand and move for up to eight hours at a stretch
- You routinely lift up to 25 pounds
- A valid driver's license
Education and experience
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, management, or a related field is preferred ; but equivalent supervisory or management experience works too
- 1 to 2 years of retail or field operations experience
- You have a firm understanding of Retail or Retail Merchandising practices
Travel
About 65% travel. You'll be visiting stores daily or weekly across the district. Overnight stays may be needed depending on business needs and how far your district stretches.
