Respiratory Therapist

Hey there. I'm putting this out for a night shift Respiratory Therapist at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. It's a full time gig, three 12 hour shifts a week. The pay range is $33.50 to $45.09 an hour, which works out to about $1,206 to $1,623 weekly before any shift differentials.

There's also a sign on bonus on the table: $15,000 for qualified candidates. We'll go over all the eligibility and payout details if we talk.

What you'd be doing

You'd be working in our Cardiopulmonary department, handling advanced respiratory cases in a high acuity, critical care environment. It's the kind of place where you need to be sharp and ready.

• Providing respiratory care and pulmonary therapy based on physician orders.
• Managing mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and airway management.
• Performing and interpreting arterial blood gas analysis.
• Conducting pulmonary diagnostic procedures and patient assessments.
• Implementing patient specific care plans.
• Your documentation needs to be accurate for patient care, interventions, and outcomes.
• Responding to critical care situations and emergencies is part of the job.
• You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams daily.
• Sometimes you'll serve as the Lead RCP on your shift if the supervisor isn't present; you'd oversee operations then.

The essentials you need

• A State Respiratory Care Practitioner license is required.
• You must have a current BCLS certificate from the AHA when you start and keep it current.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate or Bachelor of Science degree is preferred though.
• We need you to get your ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and keep it current.
• The same goes for your PALS certificate; get it within 60 days and maintain it.
• Having an NRP certificate would be great.
• About two years of experience as an RCP is what we're hoping for.
