About This Role

Hey there. I'm a recruiter for Lifepoint Rehabilitation, and we've got an opening for a full time Physical Therapy Assistant at Kindred Hospital in Chicago, IL. I've been doing this long enough to know that the best PTAs are the ones who genuinely care about seeing progress. If that sounds like you, let's talk.

What You'll Do

You'll work directly with patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Your main job is to help people recover and maintain their physical mobility by following the treatment plans the therapist develops.

  • You implement those plans using the appropriate modalities.
  • Monitoring how patients respond to treatment is a big part of your day; you'll watch closely and communicate regularly with the supervising therapist about progress and any needed changes to goals.
  • All services provided and patient responses have to be documented accurately.
  • You'll educate patients and their families about deficits and what they're working on.
  • The role involves helping with discharge planning, which includes giving information on adaptive equipment and community support programs.
  • And you know when to ask for help; seeking consultation when necessary is just part of good practice.

What You Need to Bring

The non negotiables are pretty straightforward. We need someone who's properly credentialed and ready to go.

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
  • You must have a current and valid PTA license for the state where you'll be working.
  • You'll need to get Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of your hire date.

The Good Stuff (Benefits & More)

We put our money where our mouth is when it comes to supporting our team. The compensation package goes way beyond just a base pay.

  • You get multiple tiers of medical, dental, and vision coverage to choose from. Even part time schedules have benefit options.
  • Financial protection is included: life insurance, accident coverage, critical illness and hospital indemnity insurance, plus short- and long term disability. There's also paid family leave.
  • Paid time off is part of the package, too.
  • We help with career growth through tuition assistance for higher education or certifications, and even some loan assistance programs.
  • Saving for later? There's a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match.
  • Your well being matters: we offer mental health services, financial wellness programs, physical wellness perks like gym memberships, virtual care appointments, and various discount programs.
