About This Role

The Role

MV Transportation is hiring a Recruiting Coordinator in Chicago, IL. This is a hands on position where you'll support our recruitment efforts directly. You'll work with people every day in a team environment, so you need to be comfortable communicating clearly and staying organized.

Your main focus is sourcing applicants from ads, outreach, and databases. You'll make between 50 and 100 calls per day. You'll also attend local job fairs, community events, and organization visits within Chicago, IL to find good candidates.

What You'll Do

  • Source applicants from job ads, outreach efforts, and internal databases
  • Make 50 to 100 outbound calls each day to potential candidates
  • Attend local job fairs, community events, and organization visits within Chicago, IL
  • Schedule training classes for new hires
  • Keep the applicant database updated and accurate
  • Help with onboarding new employees
  • Generate reports and track recruitment metrics as needed
  • Communicate regularly with division management and the Regional Recruiter
  • Send daily reports to divisional management and the Regional Recruiter

Qualifications

You need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be detail oriented and timely when updating applicant information. You must be able to work on your own and also collaborate with a team.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Prior HR or recruiting experience is preferred

Pay & Schedule

The starting pay rate is $19.38 per hour. Benefits are available to full time employees.

  • Retirement: 401k with company match
  • Personal Days Off: 2 days after completing 1 year, 3 days after 3 years, 4 days after completing 5 years, contingent on appropriate attendance
  • Sick Time: 40 hours of paid sick leave after 12 months of employment
  • Jury Duty: Up to 5 paid days for jury duty service after 12 months of employment
  • Bereavement Leave: Up to 3 days off for qualifying family members
  • Paid Holidays: 8 paid holidays per year
