What You'll Be Doing at GoodVets

You're the person who makes everything in the hospital work. Not just the schedules and the inventory, but the culture and the care too. As our Hospital Operations Manager in Chicago, IL, you run the daily operations so your team can focus on what they do best ; treating pets and supporting their people.

You'll lead all daily hospital operations. That means you're the one ensuring compliance with operating standards, creating accurate work schedules, and keeping things running smoothly. You'll hire, train, and onboard new team members, setting the bar for performance right from the start. Every month, you'll prepare reports on hospital performance, staffing needs, margins, and trends. You'll conduct performance reviews and coach your team for growth. Inventory management, ordering, cost control ; that's all yours too. And through it all, you support doctors, staff, and clients with clarity, speed, and professionalism.

What You Bring to the Table

You've got operational experience and a technician background. Here's what we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Hospital Operations Manager, Medical Office Manager, or similar role ; strongly preferred
• Three plus years in veterinary medicine with progressive responsibilities; a technician background is strongly preferred
• Powerful leadership skills and an empathetic approach to managing people
• Experience training, mentoring, and developing others
• Advanced skills in Practice Management Systems and MS Excel
• Basic accounting skills
• The ability to implement and enforce standard operating procedures and hospital protocols to maximize productivity and patient satisfaction
• Clear, confident communication with hospital and corporate teams, plus the confidence to make important decisions
• Excellent problem solving ; you proactively manage and resolve conflict, and you work well under pressure
• A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of pets and people
