Food Service Worker

What you'll do

You're the main point of contact for our catering orders. That means managing them from start to finish, making sure the food is perfect and gets where it needs to be on time.

You'll talk with guests to plan their events, answer their questions, and make sure they're completely happy. A big part of this is follow up; you don't just take the order, you make sure everything goes smoothly for them.

• Prepare and produce all catering orders.
• Deliver a great experience through friendly service and clear communication.
• Sometimes, you'll deliver orders yourself to the event location.
• Keeping things clean and safe is non negotiable. You'll follow all health and food safety rules.
• The food has to meet Panera's standards every single time.
• Get people excited about what we offer. You'll help market Panera Catering to local businesses, schools, and events.
• Pitch in to help managers and other team members when needed.
• You're part of building a place that feels warm and trusting, where people can grow.

A bit about you

This isn't a desk job. It's active, it's social, and your own wheels are part of the deal.

• You need to be at least 18 years old.
• A basic Food Handler’s Card is required if the law says so in Chicago, IL.
• You actually like talking with people. Clear communication is key here.
• You can see what needs to be done and do it without someone looking over your shoulder all day.
• Juggling multiple orders and deadlines? Your organizational skills will get a workout.
• You must have your own reliable vehicle for deliveries and an acceptable driving record.
• The schedule isn't always 9 to 5. You'll need flexibility for nights and weekends as things get busy.
• You should be comfortable lifting and carrying items between 25 and 50 pounds.
• The role involves being on your feet, standing or walking for stretches up to three hours during a shift.
• The cafe can be loud. You need to hear instructions from guests and coworkers clearly, and communicate back just as clearly.
