
Buyer / Procurement Specialist
About This Role
What you'll do
You'll build category strategies for media and marketing technology at Constellation Brands. This role is on the Corporate Indirect Procurement team, and you report to the Senior Procurement Manager. You'll manage everything around media, martech, and other marketing related spend categories.
The work touches every business unit and crosses a lot of functions. You'll work with internal brand teams, media stakeholders, and outside partners to push sourcing forward. There's exposure to senior leadership here, so you need to be comfortable presenting and holding your own in those rooms.
- Develop strategic plans for assigned marketing categories to maximize value
- Understand business needs, supply market conditions, benchmarking, and pricing
- Partner with brand and media stakeholders to build relationships with supply partners and improve their performance
- Design and implement media and martech sourcing plans and strategies
- Lead agency benchmarking and bidding processes
- Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and final contract awards
- Manage vendor contract life cycles so the organization is ready for renegotiations and renewals
- Make sure supply and service levels meet quality, service, and cost requirements
- Drive the day to day tactical execution to deliver consistent savings
- Bring innovative sourcing solutions to the media team through continuous improvement and market driven ideas
- Monitor the competitive landscape for trends in supply, demand, and industry changes that affect media spend
- Track market factors that influence the media industry
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations for your categories
- Keep projects within time and budget while delivering real business value
- Develop and manage agile processes to improve program effectiveness
- Lead complex cross discipline projects, identifying the skills and resources needed and coordinating timely delivery across teams
Who you are
You've been doing strategic procurement for a while, and marketing procurement specifically isn't new to you. You know how media agencies work and you're comfortable building category strategies from scratch. You're a strategic thinker and a relationship builder, but you're also someone who gets things done.
- 5+ years of strategic indirect procurement experience, including supply base management, contract negotiation, category management, business analysis, and procurement consulting
- 2+ years of marketing procurement experience establishing media agency category strategies
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Business, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management
- A track record delivering complex, cross functional procurement initiatives on time and on budget
- Comfortable interfacing at all levels of the organization and with suppliers to solve problems when needs change
- Experience leveraging company wide spend to implement complex agreements
- Strong leadership presence and negotiation and contract management experience
- Knowledge of best practice processes, tools, and procurement systems data and analysis
- Strong financial and analytical skills with real business acumen
- Highly self motivated with an internal drive for results
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
- In depth knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, organization, and technology
- A nationally recognized professional certification like Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Professional Contract Manager is a plus
