
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this role. It's with Inizio Engage, and they're working with a major biotech company in the Ophthalmology field. They need someone to manage key accounts and build relationships with healthcare professionals in Chicago, IL.
What you'd be doing
You're the main point of contact for target accounts. That means delivering approved scientific information and messaging to healthcare providers.
- Achieve the call and sales activity targets set for your territory.
- Your day includes administrative duties; it's part of the job.
- You need to build deep expertise on the marketplace, the therapeutic area, the product details, and the disease state. We're talking mechanism of action, efficacy data, safety profiles; the whole picture.
- Understand how the healthcare industry works. That includes trends, laws, regulations, and especially the market access environment like pharmacy economics and payer reimbursement.
- Use that knowledge every day to develop business plans and execute sales calls, all within compliance guidelines.
- The core of it is building strong relationships. You'll be calling on HCP offices, urgent care facilities, and pharmacies.
- It's about asking smart questions to understand what each stakeholder needs. Then you use those insights to position products and collaborate on a strategy that fits their practice.
The background we need
A Bachelor's degree is required. So is at least three years of proven high performance sales experience.
- Previous Medical Device experience? That's a strong plus.
- Buy and Bill experience is also strongly preferred.
- Ophthalmology sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in eye care is required; non negotiable.
- We need a strategic thinker who can develop and drive a territory business plan from scratch.
- The ability to create solid, long term business relationships with targeted customers is key.
- You should have solid financial and analytical skills too.
- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is mandatory for travel in your territory.
- The role requires strong skills in setting priorities and making timely decisions.
- You must be good at presenting ideas and communicating clearly in writing.
The tools & compensation
You should be proficient with Microsoft Office, CRM systems like Veeva, and standard sales reporting tech. On the pay side: The most likely base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $120,000 per year. What you're actually offered will depend on your specific experience, skillset, internal equity factors, and current business needs at the time of hire.
